Synopsis

Austin, Texas, 1954. They say there are no mistakes or failures in life, only lessons. And well-meaning but naive beautician Nadine has learned her lesson after unwisely posing for a sleazy local photographer. Now, she wants the compromising negatives back, and her soon-to-be ex-husband Vernon will help Nadine get out of the tight spot whether he likes it or not. Instead, all they get is a dead body and a mysterious envelope containing secret blueprints. As bad luck invites more trouble, the murderous jackals of the corrupt real-estate magnate, Buford Pope, close in on the estranged couple, prepared to kill for the precious documents. Once, Nadine and Vernon promised each other to have and to hold. But what happens now that the bullets fly? Can divorce wait?
