Using his own real name, Oscar tags as a means of self-expression. But using his own name in part gets him caught by the authorities, and sentenced to a summer of community service at an adult care facility, with another offense sending him to juvenile detention. Although Grace acts as his supervisor at the facility and thus issues him his tasks, Isabel, an elderly patient who is deemed not to have all of her mental faculties, requests that Oscar be the person who takes her out for her walks, which Grace allows if only because of Isabel's generally anti-social behavior, and Grace's want for her to be more socialized. Isabel has a specific reason for asking for Oscar. Their relationship could forever change how they each see the world, with Oscar needing to decide if Isabel's own need for self-expression is worth a probable trip for him to juvenile detention.
