Synopsis

People Are Dead tells the story of a group of disconnected individuals brought together by a series of awkward events in post-tragedy 9/11 Manhattan.

A body-snatcher named Mia Tyler is snatching up dead bodies off the streets of the city, leaving everyone puzzled about her intentions, including the two cops, Peter McNolte and Eddie Steeples, who are tasked with finding her.

Meanwhile, Angela, a depressed Broadway actress portrayed by Angela Bettis, reunites with her old friend Tasha Guvara, leading to some awkward tension due to the distance that has grown between them.

Angela's boyfriend Kevin, a neurotic filmmaker who labels himself as 'suicidal,' captures the women's reunion for his new movie.

To lift his spirits, Kevin seeks advice from his paranoid best friend, Cinque Lee, about life.

Set to a soundtrack of music from Sonic Youth, People Are Dead offers a glimpse into contemporary New York life, focusing on the people in the background, the alleys, and the subways who feel trapped.
