Synopsis

Permanent Record follows the story of a young man named Edward Snowden who goes from a promising career in the intelligence community to becoming one of the most famous whistleblowers in history.

As Snowden uncovers the extent of government surveillance and privacy violations, he grapples with the moral dilemma of whether to expose this information to the public.

His decision to leak classified documents to journalists sets off a chain of events that leads to his exile from the United States and sparks a global debate on privacy and security.

Through interviews, personal reflections, and insights into the inner workings of the intelligence community, Snowden's story sheds light on the complexities of modern surveillance and the implications for individual freedoms.
