Pierscien i róza is a Polish historical novel written by Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer. The story is set in the 17th century and follows the life of a young nobleman named Stanisław.
Stanisław falls in love with a beautiful woman named Zofia, but their love is forbidden by her father, who wants her to marry a wealthy nobleman. Despite the obstacles, Stanisław and Zofia continue to meet in secret and plan to run away together.
However, their plans are thwarted when Stanisław is accused of treason and sentenced to death. Zofia, heartbroken, decides to take her own life rather than live without him.
The novel explores themes of love, betrayal, and sacrifice, and is considered one of Przerwa-Tetmajer's most famous works.
