Synopsis

Sharasôju is a novel written by Japanese author Haruki Murakami. The story follows the protagonist, Hajime, as he navigates through his life and relationships. Hajime meets a woman named Shimamoto in elementary school, and they form a deep connection. However, they drift apart as they grow older and Hajime marries another woman. Years later, Shimamoto reappears in Hajime's life, bringing with her a mysterious past and unresolved feelings.
