Synopsis

The clumsy and overweight housewife Ruth Patchett is married with two children with the ambitious accountant Bob Patchett. She loves and tries to please Bob all the time, but when Bob meets the successful novelist Mary Fisher in a party, they begin a love affair. Ruth overlooks the affair, but when Bob's parents visit them to have dinner, she confronts her husband in front of his family. Bob decides to leave Ruth and tells that his assets are his home, his family, his career and his freedom. Ruth has breakdown and promises revenge on Bob, destroying his assets.
