Sherman's Way is a comedy about an odd couple taking to the open road. Yale law student Sherman follows his girlfriend to California's Wine Country for the summer, only to be dumped and cut off from his high-society mother's money.
Stranded in a strange land, Sherman hitches a ride with Palmer, a washed-up, unapologetically eccentric Olympic athlete. Along the way, there are detours that include the possibility of an enlightening girlfriend, an encounter with a gun-wielding gourmet chef, and a chance for the former athlete to be on top again.
This film explores the themes of absent fathers and damaged sons striving to find balance between responsibility and recklessness.
