Synopsis

Silk is a novel written by Alessandro Baricco that tells the story of a French silk merchant named Hervé Joncour. Set in the 19th century, the novel follows Joncour as he travels to Japan in search of silkworm eggs to save his failing silk business. During his time in Japan, Joncour becomes infatuated with a mysterious woman who becomes the focus of his obsession.
