Synopsis

Spenser: For Hire is a TV show about a private investigator based in Boston named Spenser. He is known for being an immensely honorable man who doesn't hesitate to impose his own brand of justice and turn on his clients if they lie or use him.

Spenser has a girlfriend named Susan, who is a psychiatrist. He also works with Hawk, a professional who used to be on the side of the devils but working with Spenser has made him more moralistic.

Spenser can rely on Lt. Marty Quirk of the police department to help him out occasionally, although Sgt. Frank Belson doesn't appreciate his interference.

During the second season, Susan is no longer there. Rita Fiori, an assistant D.A., becomes Spenser's new squeeze. In the third season, Rita leaves and Susan returns. Marty Quirk retires and leaves as well.
