Synopsis

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring is a South Korean film that follows the life of a Buddhist monk and his apprentice as they live in a floating temple on a serene lake. The film is divided into five segments, each representing a different season of the year.

In the first segment, Spring, the young apprentice learns about life, love, and loss as he experiences the changing seasons and the passage of time. Summer brings temptation and desire, leading to a tragic event that tests the monk's teachings of compassion and forgiveness.

As Fall arrives, the monk faces his own inner demons and struggles with his past mistakes. Winter brings a sense of renewal and rebirth as the apprentice learns to let go of the past and embrace the present moment.

The film comes full circle in the final segment, Spring, as the apprentice has grown into a wise and compassionate monk, ready to pass on his teachings to a new generation.
