Synopsis

Stateless is a drama series that follows the lives of four strangers whose paths cross at an immigration detention center in the Australian desert.

The first character is Sofie Werner, a flight attendant on the run from a dangerous cult. She is mistaken for a missing German backpacker and ends up in the detention center.

The second character is Ameer, an Afghan refugee who is separated from his family and detained in the center. He struggles to navigate the harsh conditions and find a way to reunite with his loved ones.

The third character is Cam Sandford, a bureaucrat who works at the detention center. He is torn between following orders and doing what he knows is right, leading to a moral crisis.

The fourth character is Clare Kowitz, an ambitious young bureaucrat who is sent to the center to investigate a case of mistaken identity. She becomes entangled in the lives of the detainees and must confront her own biases and prejudices.

Stateless explores themes of identity, belonging, and the human cost of immigration policies. It sheds light on the struggles of those caught in the system and the impact it has on their lives.
