It is the 1980s and the people who live in the town houses belonging to the new group of officials that had developed over a couple of prosperous decades. They are materially secure. The exteriors are well-polished. The children are whole, clean and well-behaved, a symbol of the good life. In the five houses lives of nine people. They know each other well and they socialize frequently. But soon they become aware of how fragile their existence really is and life in the terraced row will never be more like Elisabeth, Torsten, Henry, Kristina and all the other neighbors.
