Synopsis

The American Scream

In the small town of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, three families are obsessed with Halloween. They go all out with their decorations and haunted houses, trying to outdo each other every year. This documentary follows the families as they prepare for the biggest night of the year.

Each family has their own unique approach to Halloween. The first family, the Bariteaus, are known for their elaborate homemade decorations and animatronics. The second family, the Souzas, focus on creating a terrifying haunted house experience for visitors. And the third family, the Cavallaros, take a more traditional approach with classic Halloween decorations.

As Halloween approaches, tensions rise between the families as they compete for the title of the scariest house on the block. But as the night unfolds, they realize that Halloween is about more than just scares and competition. It's about community, creativity, and coming together to celebrate the things that make us unique.

The American Scream is a heartwarming look at the Halloween spirit and the passion that drives these families to create something truly special each year.
