Synopsis

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind is a true story about a young boy named William Kamkwamba from Malawi. William is a curious and determined teenager who dreams of bringing electricity and running water to his village.

One day, a terrible drought hits Malawi, causing crops to fail and leaving the village in poverty. With no money for school, William is forced to drop out and help his family with farming.

Despite the challenges, William refuses to give up on his dream. He visits the local library and learns about windmills. Using scraps and spare parts, he builds a windmill to generate electricity for his family's home.

William's windmill not only brings light and water to his village, but it also inspires hope and innovation in the community. His story spreads around the world, and he becomes a symbol of perseverance and ingenuity.
