As the story unfolds, we see the relationship between Mr. Hundert and Sedgewick develop. Sedgewick cheats in a prestigious academic competition, which puts Mr. Hundert in a difficult position. Mr. Hundert must decide whether to uphold the school's honor code or protect Sedgewick.
