Synopsis

"The Fish Child" is a story about Lala, a teenager from an exclusive suburban neighborhood in Argentina, who is in love with Guayi, a 20-year-old Paraguayan maid working at her place.

They dream of living together in Paraguay, by the shores of lake Ypoá. To fulfill their dream, they start robbing every purse and wallet in the house, hiding the money in a shoe box. However, when the box is full, it bursts due to desire, jealousy, and rage.

This event leads to their escape through the highway connecting the North of Buenos Aires with Paraguay. While Lala waits to be reunited with Guayi in Ypoá, she reconstructs her past, including the mystery surrounding her pregnancy and the legend of a fish child who guides the drowned to the bottom of the lake.

Meanwhile, Guayi is detained in a minors institute on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, hiding a crime from long ago.
