Synopsis

Mary Bryant is a historical drama miniseries that tells the story of Mary Bryant, a young woman who was convicted of theft in England and sentenced to transportation to Australia in the late 18th century.

After arriving in Australia, Mary and a group of fellow convicts plan a daring escape from the penal colony. They steal a small boat and set sail for Timor, a journey of over 3,000 miles across treacherous waters.

Mary Bryant follows the group's harrowing journey as they face starvation, dehydration, and encounters with hostile indigenous tribes. Despite the odds against them, Mary and her companions manage to survive and eventually reach Timor, where they are captured and returned to England.

Upon their return, Mary and her fellow escapees are hailed as heroes for their incredible feat of survival. However, their newfound fame comes at a price, as they must now face the consequences of their actions and the harsh realities of life as ex-convicts in 18th century England.
