Synopsis

The Killing Fields is a powerful film that tells the true story of two journalists caught in the midst of the Cambodian genocide in the 1970s. The film follows the journey of Sydney Schanberg, a reporter for The New York Times, and his interpreter Dith Pran as they try to survive the brutal regime of the Khmer Rouge.

As the Khmer Rouge takes control of Cambodia, Schanberg and Pran witness the horrors of the killing fields, where thousands of innocent people are executed. Despite their efforts to escape, Pran is captured and forced to work in labor camps while Schanberg struggles with guilt over leaving him behind.
