Synopsis

"The Long Way Home" is a story set on the 24th of July in the year 1953, with only three days left until North and South Korea will sign the truce. Nam-bok, a normal soldier who just wants to go home to his farm, is tasked with bringing a secret paper to the Western front.

However, on his way, he is attacked by North Korean forces and loses the paper. The secret document is accidentally discovered by Young-gwang, a North Korean soldier and the last remaining survivor of his unit.

As Nam-bok searches for his important papers, he witnesses Young-gwang stealing them. This leads to a fierce battle as Nam-bok fights like a lion to retrieve the secret paper back.

The orchestral arrangements are beautifully crafted, creating a sense of nostalgia for the era while also adding a modern touch. The use of traditional Korean instruments adds authenticity to the setting and helps immerse the audience in the characters' struggles and triumphs.

Overall, the soundtrack of The Long Way Home missed the mark in delivering a memorable and impactful musical experience that could have elevated the film to a higher level of emotional resonance and engagement.

Edward Green

The soundtrack of The Long Way Home perfectly captures the tension and emotion of the story set in 1953. The music enhances the intensity of the battle scenes and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the film.

The soundtrack of The Long Way Home failed to capture the emotional intensity of the story set in the midst of the Korean War. The music felt generic and uninspired, lacking the depth needed to evoke the struggles of the characters.

Deborah Hernandez

I found the use of traditional Korean instruments in the soundtrack to be distracting rather than enhancing the storytelling. It felt forced and out of place, failing to create a cohesive atmosphere that would immerse the audience in the historical setting.
