Synopsis

This movie came out in 1995. The movie "Stepmom" came out in 1998. If you saw "Stepmom," you can see the stories are essentially the same. This made-for-TV-movie has more campy 1990's background music and the story line deviates from "Stepmom" in several different aspects but is clearly a remake of "The Other Woman" (1995).

The story is about the emotional impact on everyone involved in the breakup of a family as a result of divorce - the conflicting loyalties by the children toward their parents, their misdirected animosity toward the step-mother and the father trapped between the two worlds of his families, such as they are now. A tragic diagnosis of a terminal disease for the mother presents a unique opportunity for healing fractured family dynamics that will forever be affected by loss.
