Synopsis

The Raggy Dolls was a 1980s British cartoon series for children, following the adventures of a motley collection of rejects from a toy factory, who lived in the reject bin. The series was created by Melyn Jacobson, and produced for Yorkshire Television from 1987 to 1989.

The episodes were written and voiced by Neil Innes, who also wrote and sang the theme song. The original seven dolls were Back-To-Front, Claude, Dotty, Hi-Fi, Lucy, Princess, and Sad Sack. After the first 13 episodes, Orchid Productions, headed by Jo Kemp & Neil Molyneux, gave the show a new look, and made 65 further episodes and introduced an eighth character, Raggamuffin.

There is also a scarecrow in a nearby farm which is a friend of the Raggy Dolls. The owner of the factory was Mr Grimes, who falls in love with a woman called Cynthia. Cynthia eventually marries Mr Grimes and after they were married the Raggy Dolls were moved from the Reject Bin to live at Mr Grimes' house.
