During his honeymoon, irrepressible Larry Burton is dragged off into the jungle by a huge male baboon and presumed dead--eaten by apes. However, defying all odds, Larry survives, and, after many comic-strip-type adventures he returns home to re-establish himself as head of the household--little realizing that his wife Sally has married staid, conservative Boyd Flatt during the intervening decade and is now the mother of a bright, lively 9-year-old daughter.
Larry's return causes considerable upheaval and consternation for the family--especially his attempts to woo his former sister-in-law Gabriella, who didn't like him before and is still definitely opposed to the idea of getting to know him more intimately.
