Synopsis

To Dust is a dark comedy film that follows the journey of a Hasidic cantor who is struggling to come to terms with the death of his wife. Consumed by grief and unable to find solace in his faith, he becomes obsessed with the decomposition process of the human body. In a desperate attempt to find answers, he enlists the help of a community college biology professor who is equally fascinated by the science behind decay.

As the two men embark on a series of bizarre experiments to study the decomposition of the body, they form an unlikely bond and discover that they share a common desire for understanding and closure. Through their unconventional methods, they confront their own fears and beliefs, ultimately finding a sense of peace and acceptance in the face of death.

To Dust is a thought-provoking and darkly humorous exploration of grief, faith, and the human experience, offering a unique perspective on the ways in which we cope with loss and mortality.
