Synopsis

Trance is a psychological thriller film directed by Danny Boyle. The story follows Simon, an art auctioneer who gets involved in a heist to steal a valuable painting. However, during the robbery, Simon suffers a blow to the head and forgets where he hid the painting. As a result, he seeks the help of a hypnotherapist named Elizabeth to recover his memories.

As Elizabeth delves into Simon's subconscious mind, she uncovers dark secrets and hidden agendas that complicate the situation. The line between reality and illusion becomes blurred as Simon struggles to piece together the events of that fateful night.

Trance explores themes of memory, identity, and deception, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats as the mystery unravels. With twists and turns at every corner, the film challenges viewers to question what is real and what is merely a figment of the imagination.

Despite the intriguing premise of Trance and its exploration of psychological depths, I felt that the soundtrack fell short in capturing the complexity of the characters' inner struggles. The music did not effectively convey the emotional turmoil and psychological tension that should have been present in such a thriller, leaving me disappointed with the overall impact of the film.
