Twelfth Night

Synopsis

Twelfth Night is a comedy play written by William Shakespeare. The story follows a young woman named Viola who disguises herself as a man named Cesario after being shipwrecked in the kingdom of Illyria.

Viola falls in love with Duke Orsino, who in turn is in love with Countess Olivia. However, Olivia falls in love with Viola, thinking she is a man. This creates a love triangle that leads to confusion and mistaken identities.

Meanwhile, Viola's twin brother Sebastian, who was also thought to be dead in the shipwreck, arrives in Illyria and adds to the chaos. The play culminates in a series of comedic events where the characters' true identities are revealed and love triumphs in the end.

Twelfth Night explores themes of love, mistaken identity, and the complexities of human relationships. It is a timeless comedy that continues to be performed and enjoyed by audiences around the world.
