Synopsis

Watchmen is set in an alternate reality in 1985. The Watchmen are a group of masked superheroes, including the Comedian, Dr. Manhattan, Nite Owl II, Ozymandias, Rorschach, and Silk Spectre II. They are modeled after the Minutemen, a previous generation of masked superheroes.

Despite their efforts leading to the west winning the Vietnam War and keeping Richard Nixon in power, masks have been outlawed, causing the Watchmen to disband and retire. The Comedian and Dr. Manhattan continue to work for the government, with Dr. Manhattan using his powers to prevent nuclear attacks.

Silk Spectre II, Dr. Manhattan's lover, assists him in his work. Ozymandias, now known as Adrian Veidt, uses his wealth and intelligence to improve the world. Rorschach, a vigilante, believes someone is targeting the Watchmen after the Comedian is murdered.

Rorschach must convince his former colleagues to come out of retirement and uncover the truth behind the Comedian's death and a potential nuclear threat. They face challenges and external forces as they race against time to prevent a larger catastrophe.
