Web of Lies
Abby Turner, who works for the computer security firm Custodis in New York City, developed Forsecure, the computer security system used by many of the major banks. She is horrified when after he leaves her apartment, she sees her boyfriend Josh Lawson's car explode with him inside. Her grief at his death turns to shock and incredulity when she is approached by Agents Kathie Anderson and Danny Wilcox with the FBI informing her that they had been tracking Josh - his real name Jarod Leary - a computer hacker who had been previously convicted for fraud and grand larceny when he romanced bank executives and stole some codes from them to hack into their banking systems to steal money. The agents' belief is that Jarod was probably going through Abby to try and bypass Forsecure security to steal again in one fell swoop instead of one bank at a time. They also believe that Jarod was working with someone - whoever killed him - who may be after Abby if he/she believes Abby knows too much.
Later checking her own personal computer, Abby discovers that Jarod did indeed hack into it and had set things up to frame her for whatever he was doing. Wanting to protect Custodis and her boss Mike Brobin in that incriminating evidence against her, Abby decides her best course of action is to try and find out on her own what Jarod's master plan was and if he was indeed able to steal any more money before his death. In the process, Abby discovers at least online some of Jarod's associates, unwitting or willing, and as such she has to decide who she should or should not trust, an error in such judgment which may place her life and that of other innocent associates at risk.
