Ram Chandra is a Tamil who lives in a slum hut in Mumbai's Dharavi, along with his mother and a younger sister. His dream is to go to school, and he does, after his sister is lent to a beggar to collect alms, but she cannot stand hunger for long and dies. Ram leaves home and subsequently works hard, studies, gets rich, and builds various colleges to accommodate needy students. One such student he accommodates is a recent arrival from Allahabad, Raja, and arranges admission for him to Ram Chandra College for Business Management along with full board and shelter. He also helps Raja solve his personal problems, including his affair with a young woman he met at the Cyber Cafe and later at the Bandra railway station.
