Sinopsis
Oliver Platt interpreta a Wallace Benton, periodista de una revista sensacionalista de Nueva York llamada NY Ledger. Trabaja junto a su futura ex esposa y varias otras personas, utilizando sus instintos periodísticos para obtener la historia sin importar lo que sea necesario. Parece beber mucho y maldice, por lo que claramente es un tipo promedio, sin cualidades sobrehumanas en él. Además, imparte una clase llena de estudiantes de periodismo, que a veces lo acompañan en sus "misiones" de investigación, y las usa con frecuencia para obtener información sobre historias que ha hecho o está haciendo para ahorrar tiempo. Benton es un conversador fluido con muchos trucos bajo la manga, siempre buscando más información para agregar el toque correcto a sus artículos, y a veces se encuentra usando tácticas un tanto tortuosas para obtener esa información.
