Sinopsis
El reino de Alagaesia está gobernado por el malvado rey Galbatorix, un antiguo jinete de dragones que traicionó a sus compañeros y a su pueblo en su búsqueda del poder. Cuando Eragon, un granjero huérfano, encuentra una piedra azul enviada por la princesa Arya, pronto se da cuenta de que es un huevo de dragón. Cuando nace el dragón Saphira, Eragon conoce a su mentor Brom y se convierte en el jinete del dragón previsto en una antigua profecía que liberaría a su pueblo del tirano Galbatorix. Eragon se encuentra con los rebeldes Varden y juntos luchan contra el malvado hechicero Durza y el ejército de Galbatorix en un viaje por la libertad.
