Twelfth Night es una comedia de Shakespeare que sigue la historia de los hermanos Viola y Sebastian, quienes son muy cercanos y se parecen mucho. Ambos creen que el otro ha muerto en un naufragio. Cuando Viola llega a un país extranjero, se viste como su hermano y adopta el nombre de Cesario, convirtiéndose en una amiga de confianza del Conde Orsino.
Orsino está locamente enamorado de la dama Olivia, quien está de luto por la reciente muerte de su hermano y utiliza esto como excusa para evitar ver al conde, a quien no ama. Él envía a Cesario a cortejarla, y Olivia se enamora de la doncella disfrazada.
La trama se complica aún más cuando un noble idiota, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, y un sirviente engreído, Malvolio, se ven envueltos en los planes del tío de Olivia, el obeso y alcohólico Sir Toby, quien hace creer a cada uno que Olivia lo ama. Además, Sebastian aparece en la zona, y por supuesto está Feste, el sabio bufón, para mantener todo en perspectiva y maravillarse, al igual que nosotros, con las increíbles cosas que suceden a su alrededor.
