Sinopsis
Esta película cuenta la historia de la lucha de un niño por aceptar su angustioso pasado; una historia adulta vista a través de los ojos de un niño. Zura se ve obligado a ver cómo los miembros de su pequeño pueblo matan a su padre. La madre escapa con el niño, finalmente se muda y vive en un apartamento en ruinas en Tbilisi donde (con suerte) le espera una nueva vida. Sin embargo, una nueva ubicación no logra borrar el trauma psicológico que ha vivido el chico y esto logra afectar todas sus relaciones; vecinos, su nuevo maestro, compañeros de escuela e incluso su madre. La muerte de su padre a orillas del lago (de ahí el título), ha torcido su fuerte personalidad hacia caminos siniestros/malvados. Su dolor reprimido se manifiesta de maneras oscuras... ¿podrá escapar alguna vez de su ira y su dolor? Inspirado en "Abdicación" de Heinrich Mann (cuento).
