Ses chansons « I'll Be » (1998) et « I could not ask for more » (1999) figuraient dans le top 40 radio aux États-Unis, et cinq de ses albums ont atteint le Billboard 200. Au total, McCain a sorti onze albums, ses deux premiers étant sortis indépendamment.
