Irene Cara, de son vrai nom Irene Cara Escalera, née le 18 mars 1959 dans le Bronx à New York City, est une actrice, chanteuse, et compositrice américaine d'origine italo-grecque. Elle est surtout connue pour avoir joué dans le film Fame (1980) où elle y chante le titre Fame, et pour avoir chanté et coécrit le titre Flashdance... What a Feeling pour le film Flashdance (1983).
