Synopsis

37 years previously, Myrtle was working undercover as Agent 28 and she and her friend Audrey Loud infiltrated the lair of an evil villain named Dr Rufus Dufus, where a rocket is located. The rocket itself is full of lasers, created to destroy all of Earths satellites. Myrtle succeeds at defeating all of his henchmen, but finds herself trapped by Dufus. Myrtle escapes and prepares to fight Dufus, however he trips up and is launched into space.

In the modern day, the Loud family are preparing to go on vacation to a tropical island, where the kids Maternal Grandfather, Pop Pop is going to propose to Myrtle. The Louds neighbor Mr Grouse is watching the house while they're gone. Lincoln is a big fan of the David Steele spy comic book series and is fascinated by Myrtles stories about being a secret agent. On the plane, Lincoln meets a woman called Fifi, who instantly becomes agitated by the Louds.

When the Louds land at a resort run by Flips rich cousin Flop, named Thunderbolt Resort, Pop Pop, Myrtle and Lincoln head out on a fishing trip. Whilst on the trip, Lincoln spots something amiss and attempts to take a photo, but is unfortunately seen and is surrounded by a bunch of henchmen. Myrtle defeats them, but Lincoln's camera is lost. Lincoln quickly becomes in awe of Myrtles awesome secret agent moves. Myrtle tries to discourage Lincoln from going on any further missions. Myrtle contacts her boss, X and tells her that they must leave the island at once. Lincoln sneakily contacts her behind Myrtles back, saying she has accepted the mission. Lincoln runs into Fifi again and she gives him back his lost camera.

Lincoln calls his best friend Clyde, to inspect a picture he had taken and it is traced back to a restaurant named Rubiners. Lincoln heads to the restaurant, closely followed by Myrtle, who has disguised a bellboy named Owen as her to fool the family, whilst she is gone. The family take Owen out on a limousine trip with Flop. Lincoln enters Rubiners and meets up with Fifi, but he overhears the henchmen discussing plans.

Lincoln gets pulled away by Myrtle and he confesses to accepting the mission, much to Myrtles disappointment and anger. Lincoln tells Myrtle that the henchmen are planning to build a rocket for Dufus. Soon after, the duo are spotted by the henchmen and the two work together to defeat them. They then leave the restaurant, but the henchmen are still in close pursuit. One of the henchmen, called Ham Hand, a former wrestler kidnaps Myrtle, while Lincoln escapes. The rest of the family see Lincoln at the side of the road and give him a lift. He exposes Owen and tells the story of what had happened to Myrtle. The family become determined to save Myrtle and with Lisa's help, they receive gadgets to help them save her.

The next morning, the family find Dufus' lair, located in a nearby mountain, just as Fifi arrives in a buggy, but tips off the henchmen. Rita takes the buggy and is soon chased down by more henchmen. The Louds manage to lose them and find themselves in a secret entrance to the lair. The Louds split up, in the search for Myrtle. In the meantime, Myrtle manages to trap a couple of henchmen in her cell, letting her escape. The Louds, blissfully unaware of Myrtles great escape approach what appears to be Myrtles cell, but ends up being a trap. Myrtle yet again fights off Ham Hand, temporarily knocking him out, before discovering the rest of the family is now tied to a rocket. In control of the rocket is Fifi, who reveals herself as Dufus' wife. Fifi claims that Myrtle launched Dufus into space on purpose, causing Fifi to crave revenge.

Myrtle fights Fifi for the remote, but unfortunately, the rocket launches with all the Louds still on board, causing Fifi to intentionally fall off a cliff. Lincoln admits defeat, however Myrtle uses a septic tank to help her escape. Unfortunately, it is revealed that one of the Louds will have to stay behind to launch it. Lincoln, seeing that the love between that Pop Pop and Myrtle is strong, volunteers himself to stay behind, forcing everyone out, launching the tank and crushes Ham Hand. Lisa then hacks into a satellite system, knocking the rocket off course and back down to Earth. Pop Pop frees Lincoln and the family all hug each other in a warm embrace.

Unfortunately, the real wedding rings were lost in the battle with Fifi, so Lincoln presents Myrtle with two custom wedding rings made from bamboo sticks, which he obtained by selling his David Steele wristwatch to Flop, who was officiating the wedding and officially weds Pop Pop and Myrtle. X is also there. Later, Lincoln sees Fifi and Ham Hand being told that they are to be incarcerated for a long time by Flop.
