Synopsis

The Patriot est un film de guerre américain réalisé par Roland Emmerich et sorti en 2000. L'histoire se déroule pendant la guerre d'indépendance américaine et suit Benjamin Martin, un fermier qui se retrouve impliqué dans le conflit malgré son désir de rester neutre.

Après que son fils a été tué par un officier britannique brutal, Martin décide de rejoindre la lutte pour la liberté. Il devient un leader de la milice coloniale et participe à plusieurs batailles clés contre les forces britanniques.

Le film met en lumière les sacrifices et les difficultés auxquels les colons américains ont dû faire face pour obtenir leur indépendance. The Patriot est salué pour ses scènes de bataille spectaculaires et son portrait réaliste de la guerre.
