Synopsis

Nick of Time

Gene Watson est un comptable public qui arrive en train à Union Station à Los Angeles, accompagné de sa fille de 6 ans, Lynn. En raison de son apparence ordinaire, il est approché par un couple sinistre nommé Smith et Jones. Se faisant passer pour des policiers, Smith et Jones kidnappent Lynn et confrontent Gene avec un choix simple - tuer la gouverneure de Californie, Eleanor Grant, en 90 minutes ou moins, sinon Lynn mourra. Watson se voit remettre un pistolet, six balles et un badge, et on lui dit d'aller à l'hôtel Westin Bonaventure et de tuer Eleanor, qui donne un discours l'après-midi. Pendant que Jones surveille Lynn dans une camionnette, Smith surveille Watson pour l'empêcher d'alerter les autorités. Watson doit rapidement trouver un moyen de sortir de cette situation apparemment impossible avec Lynn.
