Sinossi
Il messicano Gonzalo Hernandez viaggia con la sua famiglia disfunzionale per trascorrere le vacanze insieme nel resort XCaret a Playa de Carmen per la prima volta dopo dieci anni. Gonzalo vive a Santiago con la sua frustrata moglie cilena, Carmen; la figlia lesbica Macarena che ha appena divorziato dal marito; sua figlia pothead Camila; e il suo nerd vergine figlio Andres. All'arrivo Gonzalo chiama il suo medico con i risultati degli esami medici e scopre di essere terminale. Perso senza sapere come raccontare il suo destino alla sua famiglia, Gonzalo mente a Carmen, dicendo che ha bisogno di viaggiare in un viaggio d'affari. Lascia l'albergo e viaggia da solo senza meta. Gonzalo arriva in una piccola città, dove viene rapinato e incontra il cubano Usnavy che lo aiuta a tornare al resort. Nel frattempo, la sua famiglia è intrappolata nella camera d'albergo poiché un uragano arriverà sul posto e arieggeranno i loro panni sporchi.
