Sinossi
Hell's Bells è un nuovo lungometraggio di John Bock. Sviluppato negli ultimi cinque anni e girato in Germania nel 2016, il film è concepito come un western contemporaneo. Intreccia la storia familiare ei personaggi del genere con la modalità teatrale e anarchica del Surrealismo per cui Bock è diventato famoso. La storia si svolge in un regno cupo e notturno - una confusione indistinta di realtà e sogno - incentrato su una città senza nome. In un contesto di simultanea industrializzazione e povertà opprimente, Bock racconta la storia di uno sconosciuto (interpretato da Bibiana Beglau) che arriva in città perseguitato da misteriosi sensi di colpa. È accompagnata da una giovane ragazza sorda, che emerge gradualmente come una forza potente, controllando telepaticamente il corso della storia. Si sviluppa un conflitto tra altri due personaggi: il prete locale (Ulrich Matthes) e un diabolico malvagio (Lars Eidinger) che gioca con la Morte nello stile di un demone medievale.
