Sinossi
Cinque amici si uniscono per formare una cerchia di imbroglioni e traditori in un collegio privato per ragazzi. Uno schedario contenente le carte di prova viene trovato manomesso e il gruppo è implicato per aver ottenuto i voti migliori per il documento. Tutti gli studenti A sono portati davanti al consiglio d'onore per essere interrogati. Un membro del consiglio, Smitty, giura intensamente di trovare gli imbroglioni. Qualcuno strombazza su uno del Circolo, Frazier, che presto viene espulso. Il resto del Circolo accetta di non dare pietà al narcotrafficante. Credono che fosse Faulkner, anche lui uno studente A ma non un membro del Circolo. Faulkner è il compagno di stanza di Alex; Alex è un membro e crede di essere innocente. Jetson Harlow, un altro membro, invia a Faulkner una falsa lettera di rifiuto dal MIT per vendetta. Faulkner finisce morto, la sua morte etichettata come un suicidio.
