Sinossi
Questa serie televisiva di poliziotti è incentrata sulla pattuglia in bicicletta del Dipartimento di Polizia di Santa Monica, in cui gli agenti e il loro apparato appariscente sono giovani e informali come la loro area di lavoro, principalmente la spiaggia, e agili e ben addestrati sulle loro biciclette come i tradizionali agenti di polizia a cavallo.
La maggior parte del loro lavoro è prevenzione e crimini minori, come borseggiatori e scippatori, ma naturalmente i casi atipici più spettacolari, spesso unici nel loro genere, a volte coinvolgono persino l'FBI, ricevono maggiore attenzione.
Non meno attenzione viene dedicata ai rapporti tra tutti questi esperti (alcuni cambiano durante la serie), giovani e ambiziosi, sexy e arrapati, quindi c'è molta tentazione, rivalità amorosa e professionale, interessi personali e professionali contrastanti.
Naturalmente tutto questo preoccupa di più il loro comandante, di solito colui che deve fare i conti con la gerarchia regolare sopra di lui, originariamente Anthony Palermo, in seguito il ex recluta che gli ha dato più preoccupazioni, Terence "T.C." Callaway.
