The Agonist é uma banda canadense de death metal melódico de Montreal, Quebec formada em 2004 pelo guitarrista Danny Marino, o baixista Chris Kells e a ex-vocalista Alissa White-Gluz. Inicialmente era conhecida como The Tempest, mas teve que mudar o nome por causa da marca registrada, a banda adotou seu nome atual com a gravadora Century Media em 2007.
