Sinopse

Terça-feira, 4 de junho de 1968: a primária presidencial da Califórnia. Ao amanhecer, Robert F. Kennedy chega ao Hotel Ambassador. Ele vai fazer campanha e depois falar com seus apoiadores à meia-noite. Para capturar a textura do final dos anos 1960, vemos vinhetas no hotel: um casal se casa para que ele possa evitar o Vietnã, funcionários da cozinha discutem raça e beisebol, um homem trai sua esposa, outro é demitido por racismo, um porteiro aposentado do hotel joga xadrez no saguão com um velho amigo, a esposa de um estrategista de campanha precisa de um par de sapatos pretos, dois membros da equipe de campanha têm uma viagem de LSD, uma cantora de lounge está em declínio. Em meio a tudo isso, vemos e ouvimos R.F.K. pedindo por uma sociedade e uma nação melhores.
