The Cricket
Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a cricket who loved to sing. Every night, he would sit on a branch and fill the air with his beautiful melodies. The villagers would stop and listen, enchanted by his song.
One day, a spider heard the cricket singing and decided to make him his next meal. The spider spun a web and waited for the cricket to come closer. But the cricket, sensing danger, stopped singing and flew away.
The spider was furious and vowed to catch the cricket no matter what. He set traps and laid out bait, but the cricket was always one step ahead. Finally, the spider came up with a plan to lure the cricket out of hiding.
He pretended to be a wise old sage and called out to the cricket, promising to teach him the secrets of the universe. The cricket, curious and eager to learn, came out of hiding and approached the spider.
But just as the spider was about to pounce, a wise old owl swooped down and saved the cricket. The owl had been watching from afar and knew the spider's true intentions. He warned the cricket to be careful and never trust strangers.
The cricket thanked the owl and flew back to his branch, grateful to be alive. From that day on, he sang even more beautifully, filling the night with his joyful melodies. And the villagers, who had missed his song, listened with even greater appreciation.
