Sinopse

Depois de passar alguns anos na prisão, o ex-ladrão Scott Lang é libertado. Agora querendo se endireitar, Scott sai em busca de um emprego. Mas ele não tem ideia de que seu histórico está impedindo-o de trabalhar e ver sua jovem filha Cassie.

Quando ele rouba um poderoso traje, ele rapidamente o devolve apenas para se ver preso novamente. Mas um homem misterioso chamado Hank Pym tem outros planos para ele. Pym explica que o traje tem o poder de encolher de tamanho e aumentar a força devido a uma fórmula especial chamada Partícula Pym. Ele era seu antigo dono e se chamava Homem-Formiga.

Infelizmente, durante seus dias na SHIELD, Pym descobre que outros queriam replicar seu design. Agora Pym quer usar Scott para ser o novo Homem-Formiga, porque seu ex-aprendiz Darren Cross está trabalhando para replicar a fórmula para seus próprios propósitos malignos.

Então Scott e Pym, juntamente com a filha de Pym, Hope, devem planejar um roubo que irá parar Cross e salvar o mundo do caos certo.
