Sinopse
Blynn Lehman, um dos nove filhos que vivem em 1917 Pasadena, Califórnia, enfrenta um ano cheio de desafios: Seu irmão mais velho anuncia que recebeu um aviso de convocação do exército. Seu pai informa à família que devido aos cortes salariais e às dificuldades econômicas da época, todos eles precisarão apertar o cinto e fazer o que puderem para sobreviver às suas atuais dificuldades financeiras. Enquanto Blynn observa seus irmãos mais velhos começarem a trabalhar e economizar, ele decide liderar os filhos mais novos na tentativa de ajudar a família a sobreviver. Uma conversa entreouvida leva Blynn a acreditar que compor um hit pode render muito dinheiro, e como seu pai já começou a escrever uma música sobre o amor de Deus, Blynn e seus irmãos tentam ajudar seu pai a terminar a música.
