Sinopse
O 332º Grupo de Caça, uma unidade da Segunda Guerra Mundial composta por pilotos de escolta negros e conhecida como Red Tails, luta contra o racismo em casa enquanto combate os alemães no exterior neste drama repleto de ação baseado na história real dos Tuskegee Airmen.
O filme também explora um pouco os homens como indivíduos. Conhecemos algumas de suas forças, fraquezas e sonhos. Um deles não segue as instruções e é um lutador altamente agressivo. Um é capturado pelos alemães. Um bebe uísque. Alguns morrem devido a ferimentos de combate. Um é gravemente ferido e enviado para casa. Os pilotos finalmente recebem uma atribuição mais responsável, se saem bem e depois recebem mais atribuições responsáveis. O final do filme mostra a unidade sendo reconhecida por um trabalho bem feito.
