Hedonistic, studly landscape architect Max Hughes took an overqualified job as groundskeeper at the Seattle conservatory, so he can enjoy life. His playful flirtation gradually proves irresistible to Jamie Spellman, the favorite butt of his high-school pranks, who now owns and operates youth art school Canvas Creations, and plans with her retired father David a franchised branch. That kept her too busy to continue her own painting, as she realizes having no entry ready for the annual Cherry Blossom Art Festival -first prize a one person show in Paris- after several appreciated entries, but buddy Ava Hughes, Max's sister, convinces her to enter the 'private' vision board she painted. Michael Herman, who wandered into her youth class but opts for private lessons, seems a better match, but Max is the fellow creative spirit and more fun, leaving Jamie wonder which one fits the mystery dream man she painted faceless on her board.
