Up against a profound existential crisis, and a persistent writer's block, the young and troubled authoress, Martha, depends on alcohol to seek inspiration. Fearing the worst, Martha holes up in her modernist apartment, grappling with depression and the pale memories of her past, toying with the idea of hurting herself. More and more, Martha senses that no one loves her; not even her ex-husband, Markos, and above all, her psychiatrist, Anna. But now, there is no turning back, and to escape from the suffocating stranglehold of sadness, Martha summons up the courage to defend herself and flees to the faceless city's rain-soaked night streets. Can there be redemption in solitude?
